Even ‘tho lettuce, spinach, cabbage, carrotts and other prepackaged vegetables are shipped from various produce processing firms that claim their products are thoroughly washed and ready to eat, one very knowledgeable hospital pharmacist recently advised that it’s better to rinse these vegetables yourself with water before consuming. Taking this extra precaution insures that the level of microorganisms remaining on these products is low, helping you avoid illness.
