Cell Phone Safety At The Gas Pump

I literally cringe every time I see people freely using their cell phones while gas is being pumped at gas stations!

NEVER, and I mean NEVER, make a phone call or answer a phone call on your cell phone while near gas pumps!

If a spark is generated by a cell phone, particularly when answering a call or hanging up from a call, gasoline fumes can ignite, causing an explosion and fatal injuries.

And while we’re on this subject, most people know better than to smoke tobacco near a gasoline pump, but every now and then someone makes a serious mistake while attempting to fill a gasoline can at the gas station.

NEVER pump gasoline into a gasoline can if the can is still sitting in the bed of a pickup truck! ALWAYS make sure the gasoline container first is taken out of the bed of the truck and then placed on the ground. Then, and only then, pump the gas. Otherwise the container is not grounded and a deadly explosion can occurr.
